ORCA project special session on Global Wireless Summit 2013

Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) from Skopje, Macedonia has successfully organized a special session within the Global Wireless Summit 2013 (GWS-2013) dedicated to the recent advances in spectrum measurements and modeling towards flexible spectrum usage. The GWS-2013 took place in Atlantic City from 24th to 27th of June 2013 as the first global event of its kind that hosted four prominent conferences simultaneously - Wireless VITAE, WPMC, PRISMS and WWSMC.
The ORCA project special session took place on 26th of June 2013 and was incorporated within Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications Symposium (WPMC) conference. The session was chaired by the UKIM partner of the project. The project partners have successfully presented eight papers in total, making this special session the first project workshop filled with fruitful discussions by many participants coming from academia, industry, standardization forums and standards development organizations. Each paper presentation was followed by at least three questions from the audience, which number was mainly limited by the time restrictions posed by the conference schedule. The number of participants during the session has varied between 20 and 25 in total. The impact of the ORCA special session have been highly positive, rising plenty of interesting discussions that have continued during the official and unofficial gathering during the conference.
